HELLO WORLD!

Flowers & Freezing DO NOT MIX

It’s been a bitter winter here in Pennsylvania and I am so ready for this frigid weather to come to an end.  However, it has gotten me to thinking about flowers this time of year.  We all know that we have to be careful about when to plant our gardens in the Spring incase of a late freeze – but have you ever thought about the flowers that mean so much to you on your wedding day if you get married in January?   I have had flowers come to me after such a wedding – brown, soggy and obviously frozen.  I recall one bride who told me about all the pictures that were being taken outdoors to capture the moment – but it was so cold out that the flowers froze during the picture-taking.  By the time the bouquet was brought to me many of the flowers were gone.  You can’t save frozen flowers folks.

Don’t make the mistake, either, of putting your bouquet in the freezer until you get it to someone for preserving.  That is NOT freeze drying.  Once thawed it will turn to smelly mush and you will lose that wonderful memento of your special day.

Just some food for thought.

Blessings,

Anne
